This is a very special ‘Bird, indeed. It is one of a limited run of 20 guitars Gibson produced. All of them but mine have been sold. It isn’t very often you see a guitar like this coming from Gibson. This is a truly special guitar!
What we have here is a AAA-grade Sitka spruce top over AAAAA-grade quilted maple back and sides. The maple on this guitar is stunning. It’s some of the best quilted maple I’ve ever seen on a guitar! It’s not often that you find quilted maple which is bookmatched as well as this one. I love it.
The sunburst finish found on this guitar is very unique. There aren’t many Hummingbirds out there finished like this. I love it!
The fingerboard, headstock, and pickguard are all adorned with beautiful hummingbird and flower pearl inlays. These are a very classy touch. They really shine in the light and give the guitar a special presence in a room or on a stage. The tuners are hand-carved and really add to the ornate nature of this guitar. No expense was spared here.
This guitar is brand new and has never been owned. It has never even been played aside from a few strums by me to check the action and tone. As you can imagine, the tone from this Hummingbird is supreme. I’d like to think that the luthiers building these custom guitars spend a little more time on them, and the quality result really reflects this. What an awesome piece.
The guitar has been equipped from the factory with an active L.R. Baggs electronics system. It’s a great sounding system!
Included with the guitar is the certificate of authenticity, the original hardshell case, and all case candy.
